Pt. Leo Estate Appoints New Culinary Director

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]We are very excited to announce Josep Espuga as the new Culinary Director at Pt. Leo Estate.

Originally from Catalonia, Spain, and with a multi- Michellin star-studded CV featuring Mugaritz, Nahm, and New York’s Degustation, Josep has been in Australia for the past decade, most recently at Pretty Little in Melbourne and now Pt. Leo Estate, working closely with Phil Wood since December 2020.

Josep’s experience at Madrid’s La Broche working with El Bulli alumni Sergi Arola set him on his culinary journey and desire to cook worldwide. His first introduction to Australia was during a Stage at Mugaritz, where he met a young Dan Hunter.

Josep explains his time with Phil as being invaluable:

“I am proud to be taking the mantle of running such an incredible destination and look forward to meeting even more producers on the Mornington Peninsula. Autumn is my favourite season for produce and I am already working on some dishes showcasing local mushrooms.
“I am incredibly fortunate to have a stellar senior team in Ainslie Lubbock running service, Andrew Murch heading our wine programme, and General Manager Roger Lancia to work alongside. We have many plans ahead.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”53713″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][gem_button position=”center” size=”medium” corner=”3″ icon_pack=”elegant” text=”DINING AT PT.
