It’s award season in the restaurant and wine world, so we are brushing off our black-tie outfits to prepare for the big nights ahead. We are all really proud of what our team has achieved in the last 10 months. Can you believe we celebrate our one-year birthday in October? Stay tuned for some birthday celebration news soon.
Halliday Wine Companion
We have great news from the great wine man himself, James Halliday, on the launch of his annual Wine Companion. In the just released 2019 edition, Pt. Leo Estate has scored 4.5 stars (out of a possible 5) on debut.
Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2016 – 93 points
Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2015 – 92 points
Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay 2015 – 95 points
“2015 was such a wonderful vintage. The higher alcohol is no problem for this nigh-on perfect Chardonnay. The fruit flavours are at the mid-point between stone fruit and citrus, the mouthfeel is excellent, the subtle use of oak and the length are all part of the story.”
Our Pinot Noir 2015 is limited and exclusively sold in store at our Cellar Door. You can purchase our Pinot Noir 2016 & Chardonnay 2015 in store or online.
Gourmet Traveller Wine List of the Year Awards
Pt Leo Estate scored a quinella in the 2018 Wine List of the Year Awards. Pt. Leo Estate Restaurant received Two Glasses while Laura at Pt. Leo Estate received Three – the highest acclaim. The awards are judged by the world’s most respected experts in wine, including Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine and wine commentators from Australia and around the world. Congratulations to our wine team led by Andrew Murch.
